CloudLinux is pleased to announce the support for ELevating CloudLinux 7 systems with DirectAdmin. This new feature simplifies the upgrade process, aligning it with the no-panel process for seamless transitions. Below are the detailed steps to elevate your CloudLinux 7 to CloudLinux 8.

The elevation process for systems with DirectAdmin mirrors the procedure used for no-panel or custom panel systems. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth upgrade:
1. Pre-Upgrade Requirements

Ensure that your CloudLinux 7 system is fully upgraded and running the latest kernel version.

2. Download and Install ELevate-Release Package

To configure the necessary RPM repositories, execute the following command:

3. Install Leapp Packages and Migration Data

Proceed with installing the Leapp packages and the necessary migration data for CloudLinux OS. This can be done by following the standard installation procedures.

4. Special Considerations
*Beta Packages Usage:  In some scenarios, particularly when advised by support, you may need to use the beta CloudLinux Leapp packages. To utilize these packages, enable the cloudlinux-elevate-updates-testing repository provided by the elevate-release package before installing the Leapp packages.

*License Requirements: Ensure that a valid license is present for the installation to proceed successfully.

By following these steps, users can effectively upgrade their CloudLinux 7 systems with a Direct Admin control panel to CloudLinux 8, benefiting from the enhanced features and improved performance of the latest OS version.
